Founder
Carrie McElwee, MSW, LCSW, is the Director and Primary Therapist of Unapologetic Healing Space & Psychotherapy and the founder of We Heal Ourselves Psychotherapy Group. A trauma-informed clinician and clinical supervisor based in California, Carrie works within a framework that is client-centered, caring, and collabortive. She utilizes evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) to tailor treatment to each person’s needs. Carrie integrates humor, compassion, and creativity to make therapy both approachable and transformative. She specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families, including those who identify as BIPOC and LGBTQ+, with a focus on trauma recovery, relational healing, and self-empowerment.

Sarahli Necoechea, ASW, is a compassionate California-based clinician dedicated to providing a supportive, affirming space where individuals feel seen, heard, and valued. Using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, they honor each individual’s lived experience while working collaboratively toward meaningful growth. They specialize in working with individuals with a focus on LGBTQ+ inclusive care, resilience building and self-discovery.

Katrina Dorsey, MSW, ACSW, is dedicated to helping families, couples, and individuals navigate life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, stress, depression, mood changes, transitions, relationship or family concerns, self-esteem, or personal growth. With a warm and approachable style, Katrina utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and empowered to develop practical coping skills and achieve lasting positive change.

Myshell Curry is a Black and queer Certified Trauma Care Practitioner based in California who supports individuals healing from betrayal, emotional abuse, grooming, sibling abuse, and relational trauma. Myshell works from a trauma-informed, client-centered, and collaborative framework that honors each person’s lived experience and inner wisdom. Her approach integrates psychological insight, nervous system awareness, and parts-informed practices to support meaningful and sustainable healing.
Myshell brings compassion, curiosity, and gentle humor into her work, creating a space that feels grounded, affirming, and human. She is especially attuned to how trauma shows up in relationships, identity development, and patterns of self-abandonment. Myshell specializes in working with adults, including those who identify as Black, queer, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+, with a focus on trauma recovery, relational healing, and reclaiming one’s sense of self.
